Alegre Ballet Folklórico

Alegre Ballet Folklórico is thrilled to announce the beginning of our sister company for the north Ft. Worth area. Alma Alegre will be an extension of Alegre in Dallas, with hopes of making collaborations between the two groups almost seamless. The new Ft. Worth company will be directed by long time friend Gloria Villalobos-Hernandez, under the supervision of founder Pedro Perez.

Gloria Villalobos-Hernandez

 Gloria started dancing with Ballet Folklórico Azteca when she was 11 and started teaching at 17 years old while still in high school. While at Texas A&M University Gloria became a dancer, then President and Choreographer for the University Ballet Folklórico until graduating in Spring of 2001. Upon returning home after college she joined Bertha Garcia and became an instructor for Danza Cultural and Izcalli Dance Company until Bertha lost her battle to cancer.  After her passing, Gloria became the Artistic Director. A year later, She rejoined BFA and was asked to take over company to relieve a wonderful instructor that needed a break. Gloria held that position for several years.  I have worked with Alegre de Dallas on and off through the years.
